After completing my official “comeback” song (titled “You Really Shouldn’t” and should be released soon), I did inventory on my completed tracks so far. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that I’ve completed a total of 9 songs that are just waiting for public consumption!
These are tracks that I’ve written and recorded ever since… 2005 (it’s quite pathetic that my average is 2 songs a year, but what the hell — I’m trying to rectify that situation here). It’s quite interesting to see how my style (both writing and recording) has developed over the years — which is also the reason why I want to release these songs now — if my sound HAS changed, then these tracks just wouldn’t fit in with any other new ones that I might come up with right now.
So… What’s going to happen is that I’ll compile these tracks and release a free EP for this site only. Once I get the studio sessions sent to me here in Vancouver (they’re burnt to CDR and securely stored at my house in Manila, haha) I’m going to make some final edits and mix the songs for the last time. I’ll get the cover art done as soon as I know what the EP’s title is going to be, but I already have an idea of how it’s going to look like. To clarify, this is a digital release, but I might invest on pressing up 100 CDs to give away to people.
These are exciting times, and the marketing is going according to plan! Still talking to nobody here, but I’ll get there =) Peace!
