ONE3D “Funny” Fact #27: I am virtually USELESS during daytime, and only start functioning at 100% at sundown. After midnight is when the genius happens.
As I’m wrapping up the finishing touches on my first song after a 3-year hiatus, I realized that all the good takes were recorded past 2AM. It’s funny how there was absolutely nothing usable from the daytime sessions — not even “talking during the intro” takes! I wrote the song at night, too. Probably the only thing I can do fine in the morning is mixing the volume levels of the vocals and shit — coz that doesn’t really take much artistic thinking, just tweaking knobs until shit starts to sound good in your ears.
Thinking about it, the music thing makes an excellent moonlighting career. It leaves me with daytime to take care of my business, then retreat into the night and make music.
At any rate, the song is DONE on my end. It’s been written, it’s been recorded, it’s been polished. Just sent it off to the producer to get his feedback. As soon as I hear from him, I’ll make the changes that he suggested (if any), then it’s off to release the son of a bitch into the public. Hmmmm, quite a freaky thought — I’ve always handled “publicity” for Audible back then, but I’ve never released any of my solo songs into the public (except for “Letter To The Philippines”) especially with all the marketing blah-blah that I’ve learned over the past few years.
To say the least, this is gonna be quite exciting.
PS. If you’re reading this, you’re probably thinking that I’m just talking to myself. In which case, I AM. As far as I know, NOBODY knows of this website just yet. I’m handling some things on my end before I publicly announce the existence of this site… Some cool things are about to happen though, that’s for sure.
